Wow, congrats! Sounds like this was the right decision for you guys. And the contract work is a good middle ground.

(Now your blog title will be more apropos!)

Such a sweet post, one that every mother can relate to. You don't need all the answers, because there is no right way, or right answer. There is your own way, and that is what is best for Evie. ( Everything else she can work out in therapy.) Motherhood is a looong journey, thank goodness, but you'll need to pace yourself. Cut yourself some slack, or at least try to. Side note: Evie has the best cheeks ever! No wonder you can't keep your mind off her.

You are lucky that you get to choose, and it sounds like you've given the full time work choice all you can, for now. Evie is lucky, too, for having a mom who has considered this so carefully.

Good luck, and enjoy your time at home!

Hawaii did do wonders for this little girl. I think it's a sign that we need to go at LEAST once a year! XO

I didn't know you went to Hawaii! What an awesome trip! And Jeni, she is SO SO CUTE. I can't believe we haven't seen her in so long! I can't wait to see her (and you!) later this month.

Callum is also a little behind on his gross motor milestones, due to his enormous size and elevated center of gravity. On the pediatrician's developmental checklists, he usually has three out of six in the gross motor category (they normally like to see at least four) and then a few weeks later he starts doing another two from the list. He just has his own pace. I'm sure you're right that Evie is the same way! And meanwhile Callum says four words and understands tons more, and his fine motor and problem solving skills are ahead of schedule. It all evens out eventually.

I'm sorry to hear that she has ear issues! I do know several parents of kids who got tubes and swear they changed their lives. Hopefully if Evie does end up with tubes it will go that way for her too!

That last picture is my favorite thing in the world. You look gorgeous, John looks so happy, and E is doing an impeccable blue steel, if I'm not mistaken. LOVE. Such a beautiful life you're living out there...
